Restylane: hyaluronic acid fillers from Galderma for lines, folds, volume and lips
Restylane is a range of hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers from Galderma, produced by its Q-Med unit in Uppsala, Sweden. This listing carries several products on one page, including Defyne, Refyne, Volyme, Lyft and Kysse. Each uses a different gel, so the practitioner can match the product to the depth and area being treated.
In broad terms, Refyne is the softer gel for moderate lines, and Defyne is a firmer gel for deeper folds and the lower face. Volyme is a volumising gel for the cheeks and chin, Lyft is a firmer gel for deep folds, cheek augmentation and the back of the hands, and Kysse is shaped for the lips and the lines above the mouth.
All are supplied as pre-filled syringes of sterile, biodegradable HA gel. Lidocaine is included in the lidocaine versions to improve comfort during injection. Select the product you need using the options above the add-to-cart button.
A softer gel for moderate lines and creases, and for shaping the lips.
A firmer gel for deeper folds and for the chin, cheeks and jawline.
Volyme is a volumising gel for the cheeks and chin. Lyft is for deep folds, cheek augmentation and the backs of the hands.
A gel designed for lip augmentation and the lines above the mouth.
Why practitioners choose Restylane
Refyne, Defyne, Volyme, Lyft and Kysse let a clinic work from one brand across lines, folds, volume and lips instead of mixing manufacturers.
The lidocaine versions contain 0.3% (3 mg/mL) lidocaine to reduce discomfort during injection. Check the carton to confirm which version you have.
Several Restylane products have regulator-reviewed labelling and published clinical studies in some markets, which gives practitioners reference material for indications and technique.
The gel is biodegradable, so the body gradually breaks it down. Hyaluronidase is available to dissolve HA fillers if needed.
Treatment areas and indications

Restylane products are medical devices for injection. Which indications are permitted and what training is required are set by the regulatory framework where you practise. Korea Filler Experts supplies the product. Nothing here is a recommendation to treat any medical condition, and nothing here replaces manufacturer training.

Before you order
- Choose the variation before adding to your cart.
- Check the lot number and expiry on the carton against the syringe.
- We do not dispatch stock with under 6 months of shelf life remaining unless agreed in advance.
- Check whether your syringes contain lidocaine. Not every variation name states it.
- Indications and approvals differ by country, so confirm what you may import and use where you practise.
What each component does
Cross-linked hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid is a sugar found naturally in skin, where it binds water. In a filler it is cross-linked so that it lasts longer than natural HA before the body breaks it down. Each Restylane gel has its own cross-linking pattern and particle size, which changes how firm it feels and how it moves with facial expression.
Lidocaine
Lidocaine hydrochloride at 0.3% (3 mg/mL) is added to the lidocaine versions for comfort during injection. It is a local anaesthetic. Check the carton to confirm whether the syringe contains it, and screen patients for lidocaine allergy.

- Defyne: deeper folds and the chin, cheeks and jawline.

How Restylane is used
Reference information for trained practitioners. The manufacturer’s instructions for use for the specific product and your training take precedence over this page.
Step by step
-
Assess and consent
Review medical history, allergies (including to lidocaine), medication, bleeding risk, previous fillers and the patient’s goals. Explain the expected result, the risks and the possibility of needing hyaluronidase.
-
Choose the product
Select the gel according to the area, depth and result needed, following the instructions for use.
-
Prepare the skin
Remove make-up and cleanse. Mark the treatment area and apply topical anaesthetic if required.
-
Inspect the syringe
Check the packaging, seal and expiry. Use the sterile needle supplied or a needle or cannula recommended in the instructions for use.
-
Inject as taught
Use the depth, technique and volume stated in the instructions for use and your training. Inject slowly and with low pressure, and stop at once if the patient reports unexpected pain or you see blanching.
-
Review
Assess the result, mould gently if the technique requires it, and plan any review according to the area treated.
Administration notes
Know the risks of the area. Filler can cause vascular occlusion. Practitioners should know the anatomy of the area, recognise the signs early and have hyaluronidase and an emergency protocol immediately available.
- Single use. One syringe, one patient. Discard any remainder with the needle.
- Do not inject into infected, inflamed or broken skin.
- Do not use in patients allergic to hyaluronic acid or, for lidocaine versions, to lidocaine.
- Dispose of needles into a sharps container in line with local clinical waste rules.
After treatment
- Redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising are common and settle within days
- Avoid strenuous exercise, heat, saunas and alcohol for about 24 to 48 hours
- Seek urgent review for severe pain, blanching, skin colour change, visual change or a lump that grows or becomes tender
Storing and handling Restylane
