PN, hyaluronic acid and amino acids in one formula
Rejuran Skinbooster is the hydration-focused formula in PharmaResearch’s line, pairing 1% salmon-derived polynucleotide with hyaluronic acid and a supporting amino acid complex.
The amino acids are what distinguish it from the rest of the range. Collagen synthesis requires amino acid substrate — glycine, proline and hydroxyproline in particular make up the bulk of the collagen molecule. Supplying those alongside a stimulus is a reasonable formulation logic: prompt the fibroblasts, and provide the raw material they need.
At a lighter 1% concentration this is the gentlest injectable in the Rejuran line, which makes it well suited to maintenance and to patients whose concern is skin quality and hydration rather than correction of a specific problem.
PN for stimulus, HA for immediate hydration, amino acids as collagen substrate.
At 1% PN this is the gentlest injectable Rejuran — well suited to maintenance and to sensitive patients.
The key difference from Rejuran HB. Plan topical anaesthetic accordingly.
The HA content and lighter concentration mean papules settle faster than with the pure PN formulas.
Why practitioners choose Rejuran Skinbooster
Most boosters prompt collagen synthesis. This one also supplies the amino acids collagen is built from — a sensible formulation logic, though not one we can point to head-to-head data for.
HA hydrates within days while the PN works over weeks. Patients see something before the slower response arrives.
A lighter concentration suits patients maintaining a result from a heavier course, rather than driving a correction.
Softer, faster-settling papules than the pure PN formulas, which matters for patients who cannot show downtime.
Treatment areas and indications
Areas commonly treated with PN, HA and amino acid formulas. Permitted indications vary by market — work from the manufacturer’s instructions for use and the regulations where you practise.
The standard application: improving hydration, surface quality and light reflection across the face. The HA component makes this the most immediately rewarding use.
Holding a result achieved with a higher-concentration formula. A lighter 1% product is well matched to maintenance rather than correction.
Thin skin that shows ageing early and responds well to improved dermal hydration and density. Depth control matters more here than on the face.
Where the complaint is loss of glow rather than a structural concern. HA addresses it immediately; PN works on the underlying dermis over the following weeks.
Skin boosters are injectable medical products. Which indications are permitted, and what training is required, is determined by the regulatory framework where you practise. Korea Filler Experts supplies the product; nothing here is a recommendation to treat any medical condition, and nothing here substitutes for manufacturer training.

Before you order
- Check the lot number and expiry on the carton against the vial.
- We do not dispatch stock with under 6 months of shelf life remaining unless agreed in advance.
- Store as stated on the carton. Do not freeze — this damages both the PN and the HA.
- Plan topical anaesthetic. If you would rather the anaesthetic were in the formula, order Rejuran HB instead.
Tiered pricing applies from 5 units. Most clinics order by the course.
What each component does
Skinbooster or HB? The one question that decides it
These are the two closest products in the Rejuran range — both combine polynucleotide with hyaluronic acid — and buyers routinely cannot tell them apart. The difference comes down to two ingredients:
- Rejuran HB contains lidocaine. No amino acids. Markedly more comfortable to inject.
- Rejuran Skinbooster contains an amino acid complex. No lidocaine. Needs topical anaesthetic.
So: if injection comfort is the priority — a first-time patient, a nervous one, a full-face session — HB. If you want the amino acid substrate and are comfortable managing anaesthesia separately, Skinbooster.
One practical consideration: the lidocaine in HB changes its regulatory classification in some markets. Where that is a complication, Skinbooster delivers a comparable PN-plus-HA treatment without it.
What each component does
- Polynucleotide, 1% — supports fibroblast activity and collagen synthesis via a mechanism understood to involve adenosine A2A receptor signalling. The slow component, working over weeks.
- Hyaluronic acid — binds water in the dermis for immediate hydration and plumping. The fast component, visible within days.
- Amino acids — the building blocks of collagen. Glycine, proline and hydroxyproline make up most of the collagen molecule, and supplying them alongside a synthesis stimulus is the formulation rationale.
We should be straight about the amino acid component: the logic is sound, but we have not found controlled data showing that added amino acids improve the outcome of a PN booster over PN and HA alone. It is a reasonable formulation choice, not a demonstrated advantage.
PN or PDRN?
Both terms describe purified DNA polymers from salmon or trout and are used interchangeably across most of the market. The distinction is molecular weight — PDRN generally shorter-chain, PN longer. A 2025 review proposed a 1500 kDa boundary, but that is a naming convention rather than a regulatory standard, and no controlled head-to-head study establishes that one outperforms the other.
How to use Rejuran Skinbooster
Reference information for licensed practitioners. Technique, depth and dose must follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use and the regulations applying where you practise.
Step by step
-
Confirm the formula
Skinbooster contains no lidocaine. If you have been using HB and are switching, plan anaesthesia — the difference in comfort is noticeable.
-
Apply topical anaesthetic
With adequate dwell time before you start. A full-face session involves many entry points.
-
Cleanse thoroughly
Standard antisepsis. Remove make-up and cleanse the full treatment area.
-
Inject into the correct plane
Intradermal or superficial subdermal. Too deep wastes the product; too superficial makes papules more visible and slower to settle.
-
Space injection points evenly
Multiple small aliquots across the area rather than bolus placement. Even spacing is what makes the result look uniform.
-
Advise on papules
Small raised papules at each point are normal. The HA content and lighter concentration mean they settle faster here than with pure PN — typically within 24 to 48 hours.
Administration notes
A course, not a treatment. PN boosters work cumulatively over three to four sessions spaced two to four weeks apart. The “6 to 12 months” figure refers to results holding after a completed course — not to what one vial achieves. Set out the structure and the total cost at consultation.
Good for maintenance. The lighter 1% concentration makes this a sensible choice for a patient maintaining a result achieved with a heavier formula, rather than for driving an initial correction.
- Single use. One vial, one patient. Discard any remainder.
- Avoid treating over active infection, inflamed skin or active acne lesions.
- Ask directly about fish allergy — the active is salmon-derived.
- Dispose of needles into a sharps container per local clinical waste requirements.
After treatment
- Papules at injection points are expected, typically settling within 24 to 48 hours
- Mild redness, swelling and pinpoint bruising are common for one to three days
- No make-up for 12 hours; keep the area clean
- Avoid saunas, steam rooms, swimming and strenuous exercise for 48 hours
- Avoid active skincare — retinoids, acids, vitamin C — for several days
- Sun protection, and no sunbeds, while the skin settles
- Book the next session in the course before the patient leaves
Storing and handling Rejuran Skinbooster
Store as stated on the carton and in the manufacturer’s insert, protected from light. Do not freeze — freezing damages both the polynucleotide structure and the HA component.
Allow the vial to reach room temperature before injecting. Cold product is more viscous, harder to deliver evenly and more uncomfortable.
Single patient, single session. Do not retain an opened vial — there is no preservative system intended to support that.
Do not use if the solution is discoloured or contains visible particles, if the expiry date has passed, or if the packaging seal is broken. Dispose of unused product and used vials as clinical waste in line with local requirements.
What's included with Rejuran Skinbooster
Needles, syringes and topical anaesthetic are not supplied — and anaesthetic is needed, as this formula contains no lidocaine. Plan a full course when ordering; volume pricing starts at five.
Rejuran Skinbooster — frequently asked questions
What is Rejuran Skinbooster?
A hydration-focused formula from PharmaResearch combining 1% salmon-derived polynucleotide with hyaluronic acid and an amino acid complex. It is injected intradermally across the treatment area by a licensed practitioner.
What is the difference between Skinbooster and Rejuran HB?
These are the two closest products in the line and the difference is two ingredients.
**HB** contains lidocaine and no amino acids — markedly more comfortable to inject.
**Skinbooster** contains amino acids and no lidocaine — needs topical anaesthetic.
If comfort is the priority, HB. If you want the amino acid substrate, or if the lidocaine complicates your regulatory position, Skinbooster.
Do the amino acids actually make a difference?
The logic is sound: collagen is built largely from glycine, proline and hydroxyproline, so supplying those alongside a synthesis stimulus is reasonable.
But we have not found controlled data showing that added amino acids improve the outcome over PN and HA alone. We would rather describe it as a sensible formulation choice than as a demonstrated advantage.
Is 1% too light to be effective?
It is the lightest injectable in the line, which makes it well suited to maintenance and to patients who want a gentle option — not to driving a significant correction.
For photoaged or compromised skin needing more, Rejuran Healer Black at 2% is the appropriate step up.
How long do results last?
The usual figure is six to twelve months — but that refers to results holding after a **completed course** of three to four sessions, not after a single vial. A patient booking one session expecting a year of results will be disappointed.
Will the patient see papules?
Yes, but they settle faster than with the pure PN formulas — typically within 24 to 48 hours, helped by the HA content and lighter concentration. Tell the patient to expect them regardless.
What does the HA contribute that PN does not?
Speed. Hyaluronic acid binds water in the dermis immediately, so there is a visible hydration change within days.
Polynucleotide works over weeks. Combining them means the patient sees something early while the slower response develops — which, practically, is what keeps them returning for the rest of the course.
Can it be used on the neck and décolletage?
Commonly, yes. Thin skin in those areas shows ageing early and responds well to improved dermal hydration and density.
Technique differs from the face — the area is less forgiving of superficial placement, so depth control matters more.
Is the salmon origin a concern for patients with fish allergy?
Ask about it directly. The active is purified from salmon DNA, and while purification removes protein, a stated fish allergy is a reason for caution and a conversation rather than an assumption.
Who can buy and use this product?
Injectable skin boosters are for administration by licensed healthcare practitioners trained in the relevant technique. We supply to professionals qualified to purchase and administer products of this class in their jurisdiction, and do not sell to consumers.
