Hydroxocobalamin is a form of vitamin B12. The body needs vitamin B12 to make red blood cells and to maintain nerve tissue. A shortage can cause megaloblastic anaemia and nerve problems.

- Patients with a history of allergy or hypersensitivity need particular care.
- Hydroxocobalamin can colour the urine red. This is expected and is not by itself a sign of a problem.
- Acne or acne-like eruptions have been reported with vitamin B12 products.
- Injection-site pain can occur after intramuscular injection.
- Single use only. Do not reuse.
Storing and handling Hycomin Inj.
Store between 1 °C and 30 °C, protected from light. Follow the carton and package insert if they differ.
Keep ampoules in their original carton until use so the brown glass and carton protect the contents from light.
Each ampoule is a single dose. Use immediately and discard any remainder.
Do not use if the packaging is damaged or the expiry date has passed. Dispose of used ampoules, syringes and needles as clinical waste in line with local requirements.
