A low-protein-load botulinum toxin type A from NeoGenesis
Neotox 100UI is a botulinum toxin type A product from NeoGenesis in South Korea, supplied as a vacuum-dried powder in a single 100-unit vial.
What sets its specification apart is total protein load: 2.48 ng per 100 units. That figure matters because the protein content of a toxin preparation — the active neurotoxin plus the accessory proteins and stabiliser around it — is what the immune system has the opportunity to recognise. Lower protein per unit of activity is the reason some products are positioned for patients who treat regularly over many years.
Two further formulation details NeoGenesis publishes: a drying cycle completed within two hours, and a reconstituted pH of 6.7, close to physiological. Neither is a clinical outcome, but both are specific, verifiable process figures rather than marketing adjectives — which is more than most brands in this category offer.
Total protein load, the specification most often cited when discussing long-term repeat treatment.
NeoGenesis states the vacuum-drying step is completed within two hours, limiting how long the protein spends under process stress.
Close to physiological pH. A formulation specification rather than a measured comfort outcome.
Human serum albumin 0.5 mg, the most widely used stabiliser in this product class.
Why practitioners choose Neotox 100UI
Most Korean toxin brands do not state total protein content at all. Neotox does — 2.48 ng per 100 units — which lets you compare it against a specification rather than against a slogan.
Protein load is the specification practitioners weigh for patients treating every few months over years. It is a formulation argument, not a guarantee of outcome.
A reconstituted pH of 6.7 sits close to tissue pH. NeoGenesis positions this as an injection-comfort benefit; treat that as the manufacturer’s claim rather than a trial result.
Reconstitution, 2–8 °C storage and injection follow the same pattern as other toxin A powders — no change to an established workflow.
Aesthetic & therapeutic applications
Areas commonly treated with botulinum toxin type A. Approval status differs between markets and between brands — always work from the prescribing information registered where you practise.
Lines produced by corrugator and procerus activity. This is also the area most long-term repeat patients keep on a continuous treatment cycle, which is the context in which this product’s protein-load specification is usually discussed.
Not an indication in itself, but the group for whom this product’s protein-load specification is most often discussed — patients treating every few months over many years rather than occasionally.
Lines produced by frontalis activity. Treated conservatively and usually alongside the glabella, because the frontalis is the muscle that holds the brow up.
A therapeutic application of botulinum toxin type A approved in several markets. Whether this specific brand carries that registration where you practise is a question for your national drug authority, not for a supplier listing.
Botulinum toxin products are prescription-only medicines. Any use outside the indications approved in your jurisdiction is a clinical decision made by the treating practitioner under their own professional judgement and local regulatory framework. Korea Filler Experts supplies the product; nothing here should be read as a recommendation to treat any medical condition.

Reading the carton
Before you accept a delivery, check four things:
- The unit count matches what you ordered.
- The lot / batch number on the carton matches the number printed on the vial.
- The expiry date leaves you enough working life — we do not dispatch stock with under 6 months remaining unless agreed in advance.
- The carton arrived cold, with the coolant pack still chilled.
Vial looks empty? Vacuum drying leaves the contents as a thin film rather than a visible cake. This is expected and is not a sign of a short fill.
What each component does
- Botulinum toxin type A — the active substance. It temporarily reduces the release of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction, lowering activity in the injected muscle.
- Human serum albumin, 0.5 mg — stabilises the toxin protein through drying, storage and reconstitution. Without a stabiliser the protein would adsorb to the glass and lose potency. This is a human blood derivative; if a patient raises that specifically, an albumin-free product such as Coretox or Innotox is the alternative.
- Sodium chloride — brings the reconstituted solution to a tonicity suitable for injection.
What the 2.48 ng figure means — and what it does not
Total protein load is the mass of protein delivered per 100 units of activity. It counts the neurotoxin itself plus the accessory proteins of the natural complex. A lower figure means less foreign protein presented to the immune system for the same clinical effect, which is the mechanistic basis for why protein load is discussed in relation to antibody formation at all.
What the figure does not establish is that this product will not lose effect in a given patient. Secondary non-response is uncommon, has several causes besides antibodies, and has not been compared between Neotox and other brands in a head-to-head trial. The specification is a reasonable input to a purchasing decision; it is not a clinical promise, and we would rather tell you that than imply otherwise.
How to prepare and use Neotox 100UI
Reference information for licensed practitioners. Reconstitution and administration must follow the prescribing information approved in your market.
Step by step
-
Inspect the vial
Check the label, unit count, lot number and expiry date, and confirm the seal is intact. A vacuum-dried vial often looks empty — that is expected.
-
Choose your concentration
Decide the diluent volume before you start, based on the treatment areas planned for the session. The table below sets out common dilutions.
-
Introduce the diluent slowly
Insert the needle at an angle and let the vacuum draw the preservative-free 0.9% saline in. Direct the stream against the vial wall rather than onto the powder.
-
Mix gently
Rotate the vial slowly to dissolve the contents. Do not shake vigorously. The solution should be clear, colourless and free of particulates.
-
Record and use promptly
Note the reconstitution date and time on the vial, store at 2–8 °C, and use within the period stated in your approved prescribing information.
Dilution reference
| Diluent added | Units per 0.1 mL | Total volume |
|---|---|---|
| 1.0 mL | 10.0 U | 1.0 mL |
| 2.0 mL | 5.0 U | 2.0 mL |
| 2.5 mL | 4.0 U | 2.5 mL |
| 4.0 mL | 2.5 U | 4.0 mL |
| 5.0 mL | 2.0 U | 5.0 mL |
Administration notes
Materials needed: preservative-free 0.9% sterile saline, a sterile syringe with a fine-gauge needle, gloves and alcohol swabs. None of these are supplied with the vial.
- Units of botulinum toxin are product-specific. Do not convert or substitute units between brands — the protein-load figure says nothing about unit equivalence.
- Dose per site, total dose and injection technique must follow the prescribing information approved in your market.
- Draw reconstituted product immediately before injection.
- Single-patient use. Discard any remainder rather than carrying it to the next appointment.
- Treatment intervals should not be shortened below the minimum stated in the prescribing information. Shortening intervals is itself associated with reduced response over time, whatever the protein load.
After treatment
- Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours
- Stay upright and avoid lying down for 4 to 6 hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours
- Avoid saunas, hot tubs and excessive sun exposure for at least 24 hours
- Mild redness, swelling or bruising can occur and usually settles within a few days
Storing and handling Neotox 100UI
Store refrigerated at 2–8 °C in the original carton, protected from light. Do not freeze. Always work to the expiry date printed on the carton.
Keep at 2–8 °C and use within the period stated in your approved prescribing information. Single-patient use only.
Transfer stock into a monitored medical refrigerator on arrival and keep a temperature log. If a shipment arrives warm, photograph the packaging and contact us before putting it into clinical service.
Do not use the vial if the contents are discoloured, if the reconstituted solution is cloudy or contains particles, if the expiry date has passed, or if the cold chain is known to have been broken. Keep out of reach of children. Dispose of unused product and used vials as clinical waste in line with local requirements.

Neotox 100UI — frequently asked questions
What is Neotox 100UI?
Neotox 100UI is a botulinum toxin type A product manufactured by NeoGenesis in South Korea. It is supplied as a vacuum-dried powder in a single 100-unit vial and reconstituted with preservative-free 0.9% sodium chloride before injection by a licensed practitioner. Its distinguishing published specification is a total protein load of 2.48 ng per 100 units.
What is "protein load" and why does it matter?
Botulinum toxin products deliver the active neurotoxin together with accessory proteins and a stabiliser. Total protein load is the mass of all that protein per 100 units of activity.
It is discussed because foreign protein is what an immune system can recognise. Lower protein for the same clinical effect means less material presented to it. That is the mechanistic reasoning — it is not evidence that a particular product will keep working longer in a particular patient.
Does a low protein load mean my patient won't develop resistance?
No, and we would not want you to tell a patient that. Secondary non-response — treatment working less well over time — is uncommon and has several possible causes, including antibody formation, injection technique, dosing and dose interval.
No head-to-head trial has compared antibody formation between Neotox and other brands. The 2.48 ng figure is a reasonable input to a purchasing decision; it is not a guarantee.
What does the two-hour drying cycle refer to?
NeoGenesis states the vacuum-drying step in manufacture is completed within two hours. The rationale is that less time under process stress means less opportunity for the protein to degrade.
It is a process specification, not a measured clinical outcome — but it is a specific and checkable one, which is more than most brands in this category publish.
What does a reconstituted pH of 6.7 mean in practice?
It sits close to physiological pH, around 7.4. Solutions further from tissue pH can sting more on injection, which is why NeoGenesis positions this as a comfort advantage.
We present it as a formulation specification. Injection comfort depends heavily on needle gauge, injection speed and technique, and we have not seen a comparative trial on this point.
How long does the effect last?
Published evidence for botulinum toxin type A in aesthetic use generally supports a review interval of around three to four months, varying by treatment area, dose and individual patient. Clinics typically book a review on that basis.
We have removed longer figures that appeared in earlier versions of this listing, because they were not supported by the published evidence for this product class.
Is it used for anything besides aesthetic treatment?
Botulinum toxin type A has approved therapeutic uses in several markets, including benign essential blepharospasm. Which therapeutic indications are approved for this specific brand depends entirely on your national registration — check what Neotox itself is registered for where you practise rather than relying on the class.
Does it contain human serum albumin?
Yes, 0.5 mg per vial, used as the stabiliser. Albumin is a human blood derivative. If a patient raises that specifically, Coretox and Innotox are albumin-free alternatives we also supply.
Can I substitute Neotox units for another brand's units?
No. Units of botulinum toxin are specific to each product and are not interchangeable between brands. The protein-load specification has no bearing on unit equivalence. Dosing must be taken from the prescribing information for the product in your hand.
What happens if my shipment arrives warm?
Do not use it. Photograph the outer box, the insulated liner, the coolant packs and the vial carton, and contact us the same day with your order number. We will review the cold-chain evidence and arrange a replacement where the failure occurred in transit.
Who is allowed to buy this product?
Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine. Purchase and use are restricted to licensed healthcare professionals qualified to prescribe or administer injectable prescription medicines in their jurisdiction, with appropriate training in the relevant anatomy and injection technique. We do not sell to consumers.
